Vault: Abstract - 2007
During January of 2007 I was working in the same Delphi (GMC) plant that my Dad had just put 34 years in at. He had retired the previous month. I had been there about 7 months at this point and was getting pretty desperate to get out of there. I started spending more time creating pieces in photoshop for my portfolio in an effort to prepare myself for interviews, etc. This was one of the pieces that came out of those sessions. At this point I was definitely more of a graphic artist than a designer. I worked almost exclusively in photoshop and didn't know jack shit about vector graphics.

Purveyors of fine art as well as art historians would have you think that the artist did everything for a reason, and I sure some do. Personally there are a lot of times I'm making stuff and I don't know the "why". I'm just making cool shit and sort of intuitively going with the flow. So when I hear the critics break down historic works of art like they know exactly what the artist was thinking, I get confused. I know it's just speculation at best but no teacher ever made it feel that way. Maybe they were just repeating some shit someone told them.

My life is dope and I do dope shit.
