When I travel I do so with the aim of getting two things done. Playing outside and photographing beautiful landscapes. I put a lot of pressure on myself to find gorgeous places to shoot and sometimes I can't find shit. Sammy and I were driving to get a clear view of the sky and mountains outside of Mesa, AZ. It just wasn't working out. Too much crap everywhere. I pulled off the road in what looked like an area for dumping gravel or something. It was ugly AF but I saw something in my mind. I felt something in my gut. Banged some frames and got this gem. I love how raw this image is. Sick.
